OBS Studio / iRacing setup

Your first iRacing
broadcast in OBS.

Bring race footage, live timing, and your own branding into one OBS scene. Set up and test in a practice session before your first broadcast.

Step 1

Connect and activate the Hub.

Sign in to your customer account, download the Windows Hub ZIP, and extract it to a folder on your race PC. Install Python 3.10 or newer if needed, then use the included Windows launcher.

Link the Installation ID shown by the Hub in your customer account. Join the iRacing session as a spectator and check that the Casting Center has race data.

Step 2

Build your OBS race scene.

Create a scene in OBS Studio. Add a Game Capture or Window Capture source for the iRacing window and check that the picture is visible. Add your commentary microphone and check its level in the audio mixer.

Set a canvas that matches your intended broadcast. A 1920 × 1080 canvas is a common starting point; choose a resolution and frame rate your PC and upload connection can sustain.

Step 3

Add the Hub browser source.

In Sources, choose Add, then Browser. Paste the overlay URL supplied by your running Windows Hub. Set the Browser Source to 1920 × 1080, then place this source above your race footage in OBS. Enable browser-source audio if you use a replay transition with sound.

Keep the Hub running while you broadcast. The overlay address comes from your own PC; a customer-account page or one of this website’s sample previews will not provide live race timing.

Step 4

Choose your branding and layout.

Open Brand Setup in the Hub. Add your logo, colors, titles, and optional replay transition. Choose Arrange on-screen graphics, drag each graphic or enter exact positions, and click Save Layout. Preview changes stay off air until saved.

Lock the sources in OBS once the layout is right. Test graphic fades and a driver banner to check that nothing overlaps.

Step 5

Record a short test before going live.

Make a short local recording while the iRacing session is running. Check the race picture, commentary, timing updates, driver banner, replay switch, and return to live.

Watch that recording back with headphones. Fix audio balance and graphic placement before starting your public stream.
